Hi all,
On my way in to work this morning I was sitting at lights when my FI light came on (it has never come on before) and it stayed on for about 30 seconds after I took off, then went off again.
Any idea why this would happen and should I just ignore it unless it happens again?
Thanks

Colette - did you end up getting an aftermarket exhaust?
When I replaced the stock exhaust, the removal of the stock exhaust valve made the FI light come on. The "fix" for that sometimes doesn't work on my bike and my FI light will come on and stay on (usually) until I remove and re-insert the "fix" bit.

Hi Cath

No, sadly my finances have not yet allowed me to get a new exhaust, but thanks for the info!

I thought FI was 'Fault Indicator' rather than Fuel Injection?
Wed Aug 05, 2009 2:02 pm
Nope - it's definitely Fuel Injection

it defnatly fuel injection and it's usually the exhaust servo under the seat that jams up a bit/stops working......dunno why they wired it up to the f.i. light but it's nothng to worry about....

yeah its Fuel Injection and the manual just says TAKE IT TO YOUR KAWASAKI REPAIRER!
I know when u change the can the FI light goes off!

My FI light has black tape over it to stop annoying me. My can and PC3 make my "FI" light come on but the bike continues to be f&%$ing lovely. Next service they can put an air filter in and have a dip at the light. Not a problem really. I've seen threads which just say take the cable of the pulley that opens/closes an air valve in the exhaust so that it's open permanently. I may get onto that when I get back from OS.
