chips on swingarm

Thu Feb 12, 2009 8:37 am

Hey guys,

I've noticed that there are quite a few stone chips now forming on my swing arm. Is there anything i can use to seal the surface to stop further chipping and rusting?

Unless you have changed your bike...or the swingarm on your bike......then it won't rust.....it's alloy!
But, you can protect it. I think companies still make them. Do a search for swingarm protectors and see what you come up with?

u could use some contact... i have seen it used to protect ZRX swingarms from chain gunk... simply peel it off and put another strip on...

Chips on the swing arm - I'd say you're not leaning enough. Try wrapping them in foil and tucking them in behind the motor; they'll cook better and won't fall off around corners.

Check the pillion seat..

Stupid cheap 'Skinz' for paint and headlights - like clear contact but thicker and doesn't go yellow and farked in the sun.

Cheap too ;)

Skinz film works... from Repco etc. For the swingarm use the 4WD stuff (thicker - like Toorak tractor owners); the thinner stuff's good for where your knees/boots/groin scuff the paint.
