zxr750 slipper clutch installation (half arsed properly)

Wed Jan 21, 2009 12:30 pm

I've seen lots of post about it and heard all about, done the research, and now the oppertunity has arisen.
My brothers 91 zxr750's clutch has decided to pack it in at about 80,000 km's, and as soon as he told me this he followed up by
saying "wanna have a stab at rigging the slipper?". Seeing as though it's his budget and bike we're destroying i agreed. what have I got to loose? :kuda:

i was thinking of taking pics and writting the whole story up if anyones interested and maybe it could get posted on the site???

it's sure to be a good learning and fun experiance for me and my brother, i could tell that straight away by the way he ordered all the parts at the dealer claiming to them that he "wants to do it half arsed properly!"

i told my brother that if we find ourselves up that famous creek without a paddle there would be plenty of backup (and maybe a quick trailer trip to slow + woobly's if thats ok?) but we are definatly going to have a red hot go at it first, also most things i now about my bike i've learnt by stumbling through it myself first.

hopefully parts arrive before this weekend (and we'll start working fri) otherwise it'll be on hold for a couple of weeks.......

.....so (for now) step aside and let the real pretend mechanics show you how to do it!!

untill we ask for all your help later ;)

that site has been "favourited" by me for quite some time now, pretty much since i've owned the bike.

also edited "zrx" to "zxr", thanx for pointing that one out.

**update** will be waiting a couple of weeks for the bits..............bugger!
