help... who wants to loan me...

Tue Nov 11, 2008 2:17 pm

ok guys in sydney... i needs to see if someone can loan me front and rear race stands (and rear spools  kaneg im coming), so i can get some new hoops on the new motosickle...

i dont wanna have to fork out for some mechanic to do it so i figure i'd learn to take the front and rear wheels off (changed a rear on a drum brake bike) ...

i've also got new sprockets sitting on the coffee table and an RK chain in the mail so i figure i'll bung these on at the same time...sounds like i could have fun trying to get the front off...

anywho, help would be greatly appreciated... ;)

cheers

Owen

my spools wont fit either i dont think.

Universal rear stand picks it up from under the swingarm ;)
Take the front sprocket nut off BEFORE removing the old chain / wheels

We've got a set of pickup spools you can use, and as long as we're not at PI or the track ourselves, you can use the stands.

You can drop by and do the sprocket change (but we don't have a rattle gun so it'll be done the old fashioned way) :)

PM or phone Dave - I'm logging on intermittently, and only from work at the moment.
Unlike some lucky buggers, I'm not free yet :P

Don't the wheels need to be balanced when you change tyres? Have you got the gear to do the changing and the balancing? If so I think your place is going to become fairly popular. For what it's worth, if you are changing both at the same time, some people will change the tyres for free. When I got my tyres changed, I think it cost me about $40 or so for both. Done while you wait. Let me know how you get on. I have tyres ready to be put on for Xmas EC.

i wont be fitting them myself... just putting the bike up on stands and taking the wheels in to get fitted and balanced... ;)
