Hi all.
I have a carbon fibre IXIL pipe on my 00' zx9 I am thinking of shortening it to make it look a little better.
I'm guessing it will sound a little louder, but will it cause rough idle, running leaner or any other issues.
cheers

Yes, no, doubtful but possible, no other issues i can think of that adding a straight through wouldn't have already introduced.

I have the same question
I have a 93 ZXR-750 fitted with a Laser. I am thinking of shortening it. Will I have any problems? It has a K&N Filter, and has been jetted to suit..
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks....

Hey Gos, Where can I get one of those OSHIMURA pipes?
Still haven't got around to chopping mine. Hopefully will get a chance on Monday. Everytime I look at the bike the bloody pipe looks longer.
Both barges look very nice.
cheers

that *Oshimura* pipe is really rare and uber-exxy. Unlike its common cousin, the *Yoshimura*, which makes appearances on bikes everywhere.....
The pipe on Hoffy's barge is the poor relative of both - the *Yoshimur*, basically thats the cousin that lives in the basement, we don't talk about it much, its an embarrassment to the clan.

Yes, we call it the gimp...
Disclaimer - even though as it was my handywork that shortened it I take no responsabilty for the Yoshimur...

classic
Shorty's done properly look the goods and increase the note loudness. Safety and asthetics, what more could you want?!
I dont want to touch the akra though - will leave for another pipe to get it done

Dont get a "Oshimura", get a "Yoshimur"..
Its the big brother of the pair, literally, and provides less "Flame Farting"..
Also, Dave you may have done the handywork on the pipe, but I put in the hard yards by watching you do it, whilst drinking your beer.

i have a arrow carbon fibre whats the best way to cut that carbon stuff???

Carbon is a piece of piss, cuts real easy with a hacksaw, although I do recommend you do it with one of the old heads in the club that has done it before, there are a few tricks of the trade to help..or just get Dave to do it

I used the Streetfighters site to work out how to do my akra conversion... all the info you will need for a perfect job
I lost 6 inches, & now get a beautiful sound with burble & occasional backfire on decel
