30,000KM Service... Please Help

Mon Aug 11, 2008 10:54 am

Hi Guys,

I have a 2001 ZX9R Ninja that needs it 30,000km service carried out.

I just wanted to know if any of you guys can remember how much this cost you?

I dont want to have to front up and pay $500-600.

I would like to kind of know what to expect,

The bike has new tyres adn chain and sprockets.

Im no expert but im pretty sure it only needs, New Oil and Filter, Valve Clearances Checked, New Front brakes, and a General Check Over....

is there any majr parts that need replacing at 30,000km? Spark Plugs or anything?

does anyone know what this might cost me..
Cheers.
Tim

were your valve clearances not done at 24,000km?
I recently did my 24k service myself but got the local Kwaka dealer to do the valve shim adjustments as I am not competent in doing that.
The valve adjustment was $400, throttle body synchronisation (in your case a carb' synch) was $100 and I spent about $300 on oil, filter, coolant, brake fluid, EBCHH pads and spark plugs which I installed/ performed myself.
I used the best products I could, so you may e able to save a bit on other fluids.

Ensure they complete this & allow you to keep it for your records:

IMO, this is the only way to make certain the inspection/ adjustment gets done!

Yeah that's about the price for the 30,000k minor service.
24,000ks is a major service. (valves) Unfortunately the labour is the killer, some shops take their time per hr... :? :D
