If you look closely (zoom) at his right hand (left of picture), it looks like there's a silver AND a black lever, too.
Now, I don't know much about bike mechanics (and absolutely nothing about stunting), so don't laugh, but is it possible that it's set up with twin levers for stunting of some kind?
There's so much attention to detail, it just seems strange that they would forget something like removing a lever when 'shopping it.

It is possible to get a brake / Clutch combo..... but it dont look like that

Just answered my own question. I found a picture of a twin lever set-up. Can't upload it to show you.
There is a shortened, second lever, in front and just above the clutch lever. It actuates the rear brake.

I think Mike Doohan used a setup like that when he done his leg in, rear stopper on the bars.
Didnt slow him down
