Superbikes Round 7 Phillip Island

Postby Steph » Fri Nov 11, 2005 1:34 pm

Thought I'd start the thread for the weekend. I'm not going to get concerned that Jamie was only 9th fastest in the first practice. Waiting to hear some news. The weather isn't going to work in their favor this weekend, I'm guessing.

Message from Sue was that it's freezing down there and apparently they had problems with the bike in the first practice session. I do hope your right about the weather and that it will be better by Sunday. I remember that Jamie had gone on about how strange the weather was at P.I., four seasons in a day. The two times I was there last year it was quite nice. I told him he was lying to me

no the island is famous for it....for seasons in a square kilometer is a pretty apt description.

although i've gotta say, the trip i just had to the island, my 14th, was the best weather ever

Jamie 5th after 2nd practice with a 1'36.014" as opposed to Krusty's Prov pole of 1'35.00" and Goey's 2nd fastest of 1'35.54". But as they always say, you can't win a race in practice, so we will see what sunday brings. Forecast is good at this stage. Good luck team Green!

Such a narrow margin to miss pole by! He sounded a little disappointed but is now focused on winning tomorrow...feels good about the bike's set-up and his confidence is high.
Don't miss the interview on the Formula-xtreme website. It's in the audio from the last 10 minutes of Superbike Qualifying. Jamie's finally showing his humorous side.
