Jamie's "less than stellar" weekend at Winton

Postby Steph » Mon Aug 22, 2005 3:44 pm

I was not able to reach Jamie over the weekend due to lack of cellular service at Winton. I reached him at home today and he and his entire family are sick with the flu. He started feeling it on Saturday. He doesn't know exactly why he did so poorly this weekend. The bike he rode in qualifying and ran in race one just didn't feel right but he's not sure if it was him or the bike. He rode his second bike for race two and did much better even though it had a stock engine and was down on power. I'm sure that the rain and the onset of flu were a factor.
He's quite down right now because he usually goes very well at Winton and had a great test there a few weeks ago. His times were below track record.
He left Mallala with just 14 points off first place. Now, between this weekend and losing points after Mallala, his chance at winning the championship are about gone. Knowing Jamie, by the time Queensland comes around, he'll be fired up and ready to go.

hmm shame abt the J man....would b nice to see Mr K win a round...

heres sumthin else tho..sumthin i like abt aussies, as opposed to say SOME yanks, and SOME italians (*coough biaggi cough*)..u notice aussies tend to say "i didnt ride well enuf", or "i couldnt ride the bike to its best" or sum such thing...
i heard Josh Brooks at mallala say "oh i wasnt fit enuf, i just couldnt go with the other boys..ill need to get fitter" after finishing 3rd or sumthin at SA...mind u he didnt mention he was riding with a cracked/broken (or sum such thing) shoulder....
i love how aussies take it in there stride..it shows charachter..much better than saying "i donta hava the samea bikea as valentino, witha alla the special partsa" (in best biaggi voice)

Fire up?? He doesn't need to fire up, he just needs to hold on tighter and twist the throttle more.. Hmm, except for when he's approaching a corner.

Actually, I'm pretty sure he doesn't need to take riding tips from me, so cancel all of the above.

Just let him know that the hopes and dreams of all of us here at KSRC rest with him.

Steph pass on our best or even better can someone jerk up a link to his site so we can tell him ourselves. I actually caught some coverage of the earlier rounds on the TV & was stoked to see Jamie was putting in some great rides this year. Best bit of the 04 PI MotoGP was watching him blow by Krusty to win on the 6r.
As for the PaperClip he'll have to "kick some Freckle" cause my son Jacob (13) & I will be there screaming our "tits off" for him
cheers Brett

Hey Kat

http://www.jamiestauffer.com
There is a link on his site to "contact me" (me being him, him being Jamie!)
Enjoy the round at the 'clip in Sept. I wish I was there (mainly to see the sun and keep warm!) and of course to cheer on the green team!
