It would appear that Joan Lascorz has broken some vertebrae in his back after crashing on the first testing day.
I wish him all the best with a speedy recovery

That's not good but to give vermulen a call up would be crazy... Stuart easten from mss colchester Kawasaki in the bsb should get a gig in my opinion.... He had a good year last year till he crashed...

Drama in Superbike: Joan Lascorz will quadriplegic for life. Despite the intervention of a Surgeon, which lasted six hours, went well, the Spaniard will be paralyzed from the neck down. Lascorz fatal for the fracture to the fifth and sixth cervical vertebrae remedied after the crash at a speed of 200 km / h, on Monday in Imola test with his Kawasaki. The situation is serious and the risk still remains for the life of the pilot.
The 27 year old Lascorz, as soon as his health permitting, will be moved to Barcelona, his native city, with an air ambulance equipped with these requirements.

We wish to publish the following updated press release from the Kawasaki Racing Team about the medical situation of Joan Lascorz, following the crash at the Imola circuit during official World Superbike practice yesterday April 2nd at noon.

Yesterday at 23.30 the surgery to put the vertebra into the right place was successfully finished, due to the impact the vertebra was moved partly damaging the spine.
Today at 9.30 the rider was asleep. Today at 10.00 a TAC was carried out to evaluate the range of the damage.

The medical service of the Hospital Maggiore di Bologna and the medical team that will take care of Joan in Barcelona are in contact to manage his transportation as soon as possible.

The Spanish motorbike federation is already managing the logistics and operations in order to be ready when doctors decide to proceed with transportation.

This afternoon more news will be released
