What a race !
Val rode good and so did the others.
Boy did Bayliss and Xaus and Shakey Byrne come good when it was wet.
The 125's and the 250's were great too..

I think Val deserves the win.

What the Fark happened to Nakano ? Tyre just exploded !!
I hope he's OK
and Tamada he has Bridgestones as well and his failed too while dicing for the lead

Bummer for Tamada - technical problems rather than the tyres, I think - the bike just sort of suddenly tired and came to a stop.

 But poor Nakano! It looked so bad - wtf happened? Was it the tyres? Hope he's ok - they did say that he did not sustain any major or serious injuries, but seeing it in SLOMO ist looks gawdamme awful!!!

WTF was the deal with the stupid red flag rule?!! It effectively turned the race in to a 6 lap dash, which ended up bungling the back-of-the-pack riders in to the front, causing frustration for the lead riders to deal with. And what was the deal with Rueben Xaus letting Bayliss through to take the lead in the 2nd lap of the restart...??!!! Was good for Bayliss, he could have WON!! 4th is still good to get some points on the board, though.

How good was the race before the red flag, though?!
Where Rossi gained yards from his cornering skills, he lost in engine HP down the straight. It was entertaining to watch Rossi being overtaken on the straight by Biaggi/Tamada/Gibernau through slip-streaming, only to have the lead taken back through Rossi braking harder and later in to the 1st corner.
I guess, as Gibernau was hinting in the post-race interview, we will never know if he could have followed Rossi's back and taken him in the slip-stream to take the race, or whether Rossi could have pushed haredr and pulled away from the lead pack...hmmm...the suspense!!!

Dammit I'm kicking myself.
Stayed up to watch it last night - awsome to see Rossi, Biaggi, Gibernau and Tamada duke it out until Biaggi dropped back and Tamada dropped out.
But - I FELL ASLEEP DURING THE 2 LAP WARMUP AT THE RESTART!
FAAAAARK
Woke up around 2am in time to hear but not see Stoner come (I think) second.

So who ended up on the podium? Rossi I guess, but who was 2nd and 3rd?
Rossi was unbelievable on that M1, he well deserves it.

And as you guys have asked - what happened to Nakano? Was it a tyre? Or did he pop a wheelie on the small rise that Rossi popped a little one on earlier and loose it? Couldn't see very well on the Ch10 footage.
What gives?

I thought Tamada had a tech prob as well but I read on mcnews.com.au
that it was a tyre that failed
All classess were great racing last night. I thought Stoner was a chance at winning till the very last corner

Was a brilliant race wasn't it!! - until the ridiculous red flag appeared and threw the field into total disarray. THey've got to do something about that. Val still had the goods, but for guys like Xaus, Capirossi and Bayliss (who weren't a threat before the rain re-start, sorry Troy) to come back out and get in the way and hold up the leaders like they did is just crazy.

Hope Nakano's ok. That was horrible to watch. Wouldn't want to be his girlfriend/family seeing that happen on the big screen. Lucky I'm with Val huh? That's never gonna happen to me.... Image

I blame Daryl Beattie - it was his monotonous drawl that put me to sleep.

What a farce!! That restart was the biggest abortion I have ever seen! If anyone other than Rossi or Gibbernau had one, well.... It would have been a joke. Hell, IT WAS A JOKE!!

Prior to the restart, the racing was probably the best race I have EVER seen. Rossi proving why he is the best rider ever. If the Honda riders were anywhere near as good as him, they'd get through the corners just as quickly, and blow him away down the straights!! Each lap pulling a bigger and bigger lead. But it never happened.

It would have been fantastic to see it come down to the last lap. Oh-well.

I have the race on tape, and have watched it 3 times now, and it's still exciting to watch.

As for Nakano?? Watching his head hit the ground as he is flung from the machine. OUCH!!!

This is going to be a great championship.

How pissed off did Gibernau look.
He shaked his head when Rossi put his hand up.
He had some in reserve and thought he could have him.
and even in the post race interview he was pissed off but chose his words wisely.
I believe they could have kept racing and finished before the real rain came down and Gibernau was of the some opinion .
Rossi was smart and knew exactly what he was doing and that was his best chance of winning and being in the lead it was his call.
Good luck to Rossi he played the rules to his advantage and it payed off.
Race smarts you dont get to be a multi world champ for nothing..

I'll get off my soapbox now.
