It wasn't only Rossi that put his hand up either - Biaggi did to.
Though I guess Biaggi had more reason to want a restart ;)

Gibernau did to, but the rules are the rider leading at the time makes the
call. The others then pass the ruling back. So the other racers had no say
they couldn't just pass Rossi and keep racing.

Gibernau's top speed down the straight was the lowest there and his on a Honda "A" bike, there's no way the Honda customer bikes Biaggi etc
are going to be faster. He was holding back ,knowing that Rossi was faster through the corners ,for the last lap dash and Rossi's decision on the rain farked him up and he was pissed off.

It's still a stupid rule. But, I like Rossi, so good on him.
