Eckl & Kawasaki go their own way

Postby Rossi » Sat Nov 18, 2006 8:55 am

Kawasaki has taken its entire MotoGP racing operation in-house after splitting with long-time team manager Harald Eckl.
Eckl has run Kawasaki’s MotoGP programme, and before that the firm’s WSB effort, from his workshops in Germany since the late 90s.
The firm has yet to establish its own racing base, but it too is likely to be based in Europe.
The change will have no effect on the riders signed for 2007, Frenchmen Oliver Jacque and Randy De Puniet.
I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it.

Dear Kawasaki MotoGP Club Member,

We will be closing our online shop at the end of this year, so we are having a massive stock clearance sale.

All items in the e-shop are now half price, and will remain so while stocks last.

You can grab a bargain in our e-shop by clicking here.

Thank you

Would have thought that was good news considering the results from the last few years, the kawasaki facory should have good resourses and didnt they buy their own track a while back all they would need is a good testrider a couple of good engineers and a blankish check and i am sure thats what mister honda supplies.

Maybe a couple of motivated riders that want to win rather than come in the top 10 too. :D
If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

I think opinions of Eckl may be a little harsh given that his results with Kawasaki have basically followed the rubbish results they have 'enjoyed' the world over in road racing except in AMA supersport. Incidentally, someone mentioned to me that the other Jap manufacturers consider Kwaks racing dept a bit of a joke because it is so small. Did you know that their racing dept is the same dept that designs their production sportsbikes?

Well that was my point....surely they have someone there that designs frames and someone else that makes motors and all the suspension stuff is ohlins and the tyres are bridgestone.

Wouldnt think it would be that hard to make a dozen frames or so (go hard randy) getting the very best of of 800cc might be a bit harder and they can write it off against there road bike budget.

Cant say bad things about eccle but if he has been there a long time and results arent happening and suzuki is going past them real quick management has to step in.

You could be right or its a sign that they're getting more serious in their efforts to win races.
