Sorry Cant help you out with Pics/vids of Gobert Kempy, Used to watch him on the box, Gobert (when he felt like it) would have the back wheel bouncing & waving around about a foot off the deck and be sliding it in opposite lock on the front one lap after lap. Also Hagar in his early years was great to watch both of them looked as if they were 3 corners late for a crash, an in Hagars case he usually did Crash. If any one comes up with some piccies I'll certainly take a peek.
Cheers Brett

You could try duke videos. They do the World superbike reviews and I think he would be in the 95 and 96 ones...
You gotta see him in action at P.I. winning both rounds on the zx7r, great stuff..!!

If Duke are unable to help, give the "Pit Stop book shop" in Perth a call, they have heaps of vids & books on all types of motorsports.
They do phone orders and will deliver to your door anywhere in OZ and I am sure overseas too.
Dunno their phone number, look up the phone number at

I hope this helps

Gobert was a brilliant talent - I consider him one of the finest products of the Australian Rider Factory. I never forget him stepping onto the Muzzy Kawasaki WSB team at Philip Island and wiping the field. He was definitely a PI specialist.
It's a shame that distractions got the better of him and he never really fulfilled his promise.

Ah sorry for you Younger folks, Anthony Gobert Pissed a Great Future away by messing around with Allegal substances(Allegedy, Although i do remember hearing he failed the odd blood test). He partied too hard and Generally was an Arrogant Pain in the Arse. But he was awesome when it come to riding a scoot beyond its limits when he wanted to put in the effort.
Cheers Brett

I do or did have Gobert winning both races at PI on a zx7r
I think Foxsports showed it between wsbk races one year and as I tape them I got it too.
If I get time over the next week I'll go through some tapes and you never know you might be in luck . Its a big maybe though

HAHA, that'd be cool.
I just want to see what everyone raves on about, and to see a ZX7R kick everyone's arse.

The "GO SHOW" and Matt Maladin (now unbeatable on gsxr in AMA superbikes) are the two sole reasons I love modern Kwakas.

as everyone else said he was unbeleiveable when he was on song.
in 95 honda wouldnt give him a wsb ride after winning the australian title (he beat mat mladin) so he walked down pit lane jumped on the muzzy kawasaki zxr750 and allowed his team mate Scott Russell) to win the first race as he was still a shot at winning the world tiltle. by the second race there was no way he could win so he took off and won the race.
In 96 he consistantly backed the zx7r into honda to beat colin edwards in one race and aaron slight in the other for a fantastic double, i've got it on tape and watch them regularly, fantastic stuff.
pitty he couldnt kepp of the grog and corkers, thats what he was getting paid big money for..........one of those guys that just has natural talent, and the ego to go with it.
