Fender eliminator - check
K&N Air filter - check (however i will go back to OEM for Moto Garage's dyno day so I can get a baseline, then compare with K&N + slipon when I get it)

So I went to fit my new slip on exhaust on Sunday, the box has been unopened in my shed for 10 days. I haven't had time to fit it so I didn't tease myself by opening it. Anyway, as soon as I opened it I knew something was wrong...wrong exhaust.

I've contacted the supplier (Italy) and a new one is been shipped immediately so fingers crossed it will be all good this time. Problem is I have to wait another 2 weeks for it to arrive.

What is the difference between the z1000 and zx10r in terms of the engine?

This is a nice bike, i really like how the exhausts have been made on this model. :D

Exhausts may look good but they weigh the same as a Sherman Tank

Z1000 motor is a reworked 9 motor, the 10 is totally different except the fact it's an inline four :kuda:

One of the std mufflers weighs twice as much as the new full system on my bike  - then add another muffler and the headers  No wonder it felt better.

Also free's the engine up more as well - mine was gutless as fuck with the stock pipes - now its a laugh a minute.

The engine as Damo said is an F model 9 with bigger bore (953cm3) and milder cams. It does have FI though. It also doesnt have the top end of a nine, but being a naked bike doesnt need it. ;)

I may not see many extra horses, but together with a K&N should free it up a little. Plus I finally get a decent sound, save over 2Okgs and get a single sided set-up (which I really like on the Zeds) - all for a very reasonable price. I'll eventually get a proper 4 into 1 system rather than the 2 into 1 mid pipe setup that it comes with, maybe even go zx9 headers if one falls into my lap.

Yeah, I feel like a bit of a PC clone as we've both got 82 GPz750's too.
