ZRX track bike

Postby jonoZRX » Sun Sep 06, 2009 2:37 pm

I don't like riding on the road anymore, so I decided to get rid of my gixxer and trackify the ZRX. Stuff done so far:

  • Removed road gear and some other unnecessary bits
  • Phase Racing rearsets
  • Posh Faith engine covers
  • Racetech suspension front and rear (much cheaper than Ohlins)
  • Rear end raised 5mm
  • Front lowered 10mm
  • Supercorsas
  • Sintered brake pads
  • Braided lines
  • Carbon slipon (came with the bike, more than 3kg lighter than the standard item)

Stuff to be done over the next 12 months:

  • Full titanium system
  • Pods
  • Jetting
  • Renthal ultra-lows
  • Steering damper
  • Tidy up the undertail area
  • Make up proper numberboards for hektik race cred
  • Possible brake upgrade (we'll see how they go at WP and OP)

At present it is about 10kg lighter than standard, and getting a full titanium system will save another ~7kg. The wish list (stuff I can't afford) looks like this:

  • Slipper clutch
  • Muzzy cams and 1224 overbore kit (good for about 160hp at the rear)
  • Carrozzeria wheels

On touring tyres, standard rear suspension and a freezing cold day.

It was so dark that day, I couldn't see where I was going when I had the tinted visor on.
