TY's nostalgia

Postby ty » Sun Mar 22, 2009 4:37 pm

Just going through some old photos and thought I might post some up.
No - I'm not looking for sympathy or pity ;) just feel like posting them up to bump some memories.

There's also proof here that you can take a clapped out GPX250, or a heavy ZZR600, out to EC and still have a ball.
Enjoy ;)

Having the mirrors tucked in would have saved seconds off your lap time. Right?? :D

Dec 02, and Feb 03 were the GPX with jeans - that was before ASBS got their monopoly and MotoConcepts were running days. They let you out in jeans in the slow group - you needed jacket gloves, boots and helmet of course though.
And yes - the red 9 was my favourite ;)

Tucking the mirrors in did help dutch ;) removing them off the GPX was even better :D

Yes many seconds, Ty when the centre stand digs in I bet its not a barrel of laughs
& pinchy in the early days it was pretty much unheard of going out & buying a set of leathers unless you were planing on racing, there was little choice & it was bloody expensive for a 1 piece, & from memory most of the 2 piece sets did not zip together

No the centre stand wasn't much fun
The GPX dug in regularly around turn 2 - had a nice little back end slide/bounce once that had a marshal out of his box.
The ZZR's dug in on turns 2 and 9 - but only if I wasn't hanging off enough ;)
I learnt to hang off.
