Fitting New fairing to '06 ZX6'

Had a bit of a stack and been off the bike for awhile getting it sorted. Ordered some new after market fairing from Hong Kong. It took almost 2 months to arrive in Aus. It looks good but the fitting is difficult compared to OEM as most pre drilled holes dont line up real well, but for the price you cant go wrong.

Have not finished yet but here are some pics.

The cans are 'Laser Extreme' lol ... look similar to mv type.

Colour of after market fairing is not same as OEM.

Have also fitted ZX14 type mirrors and can now see better behind. Plus new CF levers and clear indicators.

The screen actualy was purchased from the same company that provided the fairing . I ordered it first to see how long it would take to come from Hong Kong. It cost like a $1.00 for the screen but like $48.00 frieght so under $50 complete and arrived under a week once pay pal kicked in. ebay name for screen and fairing is 'auctmarts1' ... fairing took alot longer to turn up though.

Also Saki the fitment around the headlight is good ... the above photo's were in the early stages of fitment and some mounting screws were not installed. Can provide more pics if you want?

Very happy with how it has all turned out. Cost approx. $580 for fairing / screen / clear indicators / cf levers / cf mirrors (not including frieght costs)

Hi,

Can i just ask whether these were ABS or PVC fairings? I know both seem to be available on ebay. Also, have you had any real problems with them? I have heard a lot of people complaining that they melt etc and are super brittle.... oh just saw you havent had them for long so i might be jumping the gun a bit asking that.

Maraach the fairing is ABS and not had it on for long. So far so good, no melting under the tail section near the can. Took sometime to fit as some mounting holes did not line up 100% but very happy with it.

Would not recommend this fairing for a tracky though as any crash would stuff it. No where near the quality or strength of original fairing.
