Stock front end has gone on to a better home (it was used as part payment for the work done). Hopefully it gets stripped down and brought back to life (it was starting to show its age after that many km) and can go on someone elses project :)

And sell the 9?!? Never!
Seriously though with all the bling bits Ive bought and the new front end and the cost of the bike originally I still dont think I would be able to get even a second hand 04 ZX10 yet. Think the running total must be around the $11k mark. Not bad for something which has taken me 50+ thou km in the last 2 years. The bike now has so many kilometres on it that its not really worth me selling it since I would get nothing for it, so the only thing left to do is modify it to death

To celebrate me getting her back I took it to the drags tonight. First time I have ever been so was pretty damn happy with my end result. Got a 11.52 @ 212km/h and Im by no means a small person :D

Definately not your average 9. :)

So how did it work out handling wise??

Did it retain the rake of a nine or did it change the front rake a bit??

Looks like a great idea for a project bike fully adjustable usd forks and radial brakes. :D
If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

Handling is spot on mate. I was a bit worried to get it back to be honest just incase it was screwed but nope, its perfect :)
Drops into corners ever so slightly quicker. The only thing which has changed is the offset (distance between steering stem and fork tubes) is heavily reduced (approx 34mm down to 25mm). The brakes are seriously the best thing about it though. My brakes on the 9 were pretty damn crap to be honest, but these things haul it up like nothing else.

haha cheers mate :)
If you got the cash I say go for it. The front end is cheap really. Think I got the forks and brakes off ebay landed for under $600 AU total shipped from overseas. Much love for ebay!

If you do ever go ahead with it I would be more then happy to provide you the spacer dimensions etc. The biggest hurdle is the top clamp... since the forks are shorter you really need a stepped one to be able to retain standard ride height.

cheers,
Kris
