Thanks mate!!! I'll have the fridge stacked naturally!!!!!!!!

I would envisage a motor swap as about a 32 stubbie job...... wouldn't you????

Thanks Stereo.

A big thank you first up to Stereo! He dropped by this Afternoon and assisted me with the much needed brute force required to change the motor over. He is like one of those crane that lifts the containers at the wharf!! Bloody hell he made the motor look like it was about 20kgs!!!! But thanks a lot Stereo, as I could never have done that without you.

The motor is now in the frame, and I have had enough for today (god it was a late one last night ) So will finish bolting it up and plugging in the fluids and electrics tomorrow. But here is a brief rundown on what was done today.

Got up about 9.00am after a 5am finish with a rotten headache and a real lack of motivation! Cured the motivation, still got the headache! :x

Started stripping the bike at about 11.00 am. Belly pan, front upper fairing, seat and ducktail were all removed. Then the tank was unbolted, and the airbox and carbies removed. Then I unplugged all the spaghetti, and drained the colling system. Loosened the front sprocket nut and then removed the chain.

Then I undid all the engine mount bolts and pulled all of them out except the top rear one. Then laid the bike over on its left hand side and wiggled the engine till there was no strain on the last remaining engine bolt, and slid it out. I then wiggled (And yes that is the Kawasaki technical term I believe  ) the engine out of the mount locators and literally lifted the frame off the motor. (The fram is sooo light without and engine, even for my Greek back)

Then the muscle arrived. Stereo! He helped me move the old engine out of the way (read he picked it up and I watched) and then the same procedure pretty much for manouvring the new motor into position. This is where it got a little tricky. But thankfully Stereo handles a fair bit a lifting no worries and made it loads easier. We lifted the engine up in under the upright frame, and my darling pit assistant, bride and Pillion in a million managed to scrape her hungover body off the lounge (In slippers and dressing gown too I might add) and slide in the top rear engine mount bolt. Voila! One engine in the frame!! Woohoo!

I will attack putting the bits back on it tomorrow and start it to make sure it runs before I take it to Broadford to run it in some time soon! Hopefully I will get more than two meets and a practice session out of this motor!
