Finally got the bike back together this afternoon.
Unfortunately things haven't exactly gone to plan. Moved the fuel tap to prime and straight away I've got fuel pissing out the new foam pod filters... not a good start. Isn't there an overflow pipe on these things??
Figure I'd check to see if it runs at all, after about 30 seconds cranking it fired up running like absolute crap. Won't idle, smoking like a chimney,
reeks of fuel etc.
Anyone have any bright ideas on what the hell I've done wrong?
Stuff I've done since it was last running:
- Removed airbox and fitted pod filters
- Removed kleen injection system and fitted blanking plates
- Removed all the carb heater circuit crap from the carbs
- Joined the vac hoses from carb 1 & carb 4 together (couldn't find any decent caps to just block them, and the t-piece to the kleen system was obviously no longer needed).
- Fitted dynojet stage 3 kit as per the instructions (with the 126 mains). Cleaned the crap out of the carbs while I was at it. Apart from fitting the new needles and changing the main jet I didn't touch anything else on them.
- Had the bike just about completely apart due to painting the frame. 95% sure I've plugged everything back in the way it was though (did take it apart weeks ago however and many beers have been consumed between then and now so memory is a little hazy
).
Can a stuck float or crap in the carbs cause it to run so terrible? I'm thinking there must be something else I've missed.
