Devil high mount

Postby NinjaMoses » Tue Dec 20, 2005 6:31 pm

Took 2 and a half days but Ive finally fitted the full Devil high mount system I got for my baby. It replaces a yoshi slip on I had on the stock headers.

Had a few problems such as 6 of the 8 exhaust studs undoing rather then the nuts, plus I had to bin the rear indicator setup I had because it didnt fit, but overall its been more then worth it. Ive hooked up my undertail and brake light indicators to flash together now to hopefully avoid another yellow sticker (I got stickered about 6 months back for having just the undertail flickers).

Excuse the naked ness of her. She wont get her fairings back on till tomorrow once Ive gone for a decent ride and re-tightened all the nuts.

Have only been on a short 10 minute ride since getting it back together but frieking hell what a difference. Pulls like a freight train now and wheelies much easier in 2nd gear.

Offset number plate was necessary unfortunately to make it fit. I'm not particulary fond of it either though so will be getting a custom mini plate for it in a month or two (they are 19cm wide versus 26cm standard). That should allow me to mount it just about dead centre again. :)

Your licence plate doesnt have numbers on it.... perhaps you should just take it off

Cool, but ya can mount a plate in front of ya rear wheel as long as the angles of vision are correct and you have a plate light. Best ya check that out in your state, I have heard of someone doing that and being legal in QLD although a bit unconventional and it does look very neat too

Yeah have seen bikes overseas do that. It looks good but I think it would just be cop bait over here in WA. The indicator setup alone is enough for me to get yellow stickered (not 30cm apart), so I have to try and avoid attention from the boys in blue as much as possible. Not to worry once I get a mini plate for it it should look much better then it does now anyway. :)

???? Are you sure on that one? Thought the bikes only went down as far as 21cm, mini's are only for cars? Looked into it a couple of months ago for then b/f's bike, if I'm wrong them I'm off to the licencing centre for a chrissie present, ya can never have too many of them :) score heaps of browny points :)
