Summer Photo Competition - and the winner is.....

Postby Slow and wobbly » Sat Dec 23, 2006 10:24 pm

Just about everyone has a digital camera these days, and just about everyone has taken photos of their bike. But most people only ever photograph their pride and joy after giving it a shine and then wheeling it out into the backyard where they take a few happy snaps in front of the lemon tree with the kids swing set and the hills hoist in the background. So I thought why not have a competion with the only criteria to be who can create the best image containing a Kawasaki sportsbike? You know one of those shots that just makes you go " oooooh thats a good one". The warm weather is here and we are all traveling to different locations each week, so why not take time out to try to capture the best shot you can of yours or your mates bike/s?
Some simple rules to follow would be;
1. Image must contain at least one, or part of, Kawasaki sportsbike of any era
2. Image to be scaled down to a reasonable size so as not to be offensive to either the server or those on dialup accounts. Suggest say max size 100kb ? ( not sure of max allowable upload of attatchments )
3 Photoshop and other editing allowed, this is not about purist photography more about creating an image you can be proud of.
4. Only two entries per user, just put up your best not your whole collection from the past 20 years.
5. Have a close off date, lock the thread at a set time. Suggest end of Feb and then have people vote for the best pic.
6. The winner will be most everyone that participates given that if you take the time and effort you may well be rewarded with a great pic , sans lemon tree, swing set and rover licking his nutsack in the background.

Oh and to avoid others ripping you off if it is a great shot perhaps think about adding a watermark to it and ensure you only put up low res pics. It might be great to see your picture printed or used elsewhere, but dont give em away for free.

I thought it was a good idea that others might be interested in.

I'll kick it off! :D
here's one I took while we were touring Tasmania in January, I bought my G/F a Tassie devil soft toy (which spent most of the trip cable tied to her bike) but thought it may make a good pic sitting on my mates ZX10R exhaust ... Tassie Devil/ Devil pipe get it? :wink: :roll: :oops:
