New filly for the stable

Mon Oct 18, 2010 3:45 pm

Finally after weeks af back and forth i finally collected a new filly for the stable. Before you say anything i know it's not a Kawasaki but when looking for a mount in the 125cc class it's impossible to find one from Kawasaki.

The new girl is an 2001 Aprilia RS125. Previously raced by Rhys Moller before being sold off to a young chap in Ballarat.

When it was wheeled into the shed it still had all it's road going gear on it (so as per most females who enter the man cave) has now had all it's clothing removed and examined from top to bottom and all places in between ;)

I'll do my best to keep this updated as the little girl progresses along its path to becoming a fire breathing 125cc beast (ok maybe not fire breathing but there should be the odd puff of smoke)

So far the mods will be kept reasonably simple but when it's all finished it will have the whole box and dice
Full set of Race Glass (obviously)
Slicks (if i can find someone who makes them to suit the rims)
Suspension upgrades
Rear Sets
Race Pipe and Carbon Muffler
Flat slide Mikuni (powerjet hopefully once i've done the reasearch)
ETC ETC

I'm still yet to finalise the color scheme however it will feature Kawasaki Green as the main color as will the ZXR and KH etc.

Anyone that has any advise feel free to let me know.

Cheers

Hey Stace, what was the reason you opted for the RS ?? Was it just the right money at the time, or is there an agenda to it? Reason I ask, is that you are most likely to run against proper 125GP bikes yeah??? Unless there is some other class you can run it in?? If you have to run it against 125GP bikes, you have really set yourself a challenge mate!!! Those are 70kgs and 70HP!!! Yours is 120kgs and 50HP!!! Maybe your amazing cornering skills will come into play and make up the difference!!! ;)

It was just the right price mate. That and i'll be able to play with Billy a bit on it TZ.

But i have no doubt my warp speed cornering will put me at the front of the pack (That and my ability to cut half the track from time to time)

Nice work Boltmeister ! what class will you be running in ? It should go alright with a few simple mods......

Rhys Moller eh ? One of my mates in Qld used to work for Mollers Kawasaki many many years ago.....

Looking forward to seeing this one on the track mate :kuda: :kuda:

I'd say it will be the 125 GP glass so i'll be well and truly out gunned not only power wise but also ability wise too. But if i can coax Billy out with is 94 TZ 125 then we should have some fun. Well either that or it could all end it tears (Last time we raced the same class i got a little close, Not a good idea when he's team owner  )

Same colour & model as the ones that Craig White & I raced in BEARS, we had an offer from John Sample Group to buy them pre delivery for a special price to try & get a new class going....... best thing about these is they are race bikes to start with.... hardly any mods & you can chuck them at the track for a ton of fun :D
Oh & my fairings were used by Race Glass in Melbourne to make a mould so there is supplier close by...... but I think they were up for sale last time I checked.
Nice one Stace
