Getting closer....

This is my new ride, not quite going just yet like everyone elses is. Pulling it down to change the classic ZX7 purple rim design to something I feel will be mine. Paint the frame & rims mat black.
Polish the outside ring of the rim along with the grab handles.
Paint the fairings gloss black.
I work as a metal fabrication engineer, and everytime I look at the rear sets on my bedroom floor, I start running ideas through my head. I reckon I might have to draw some new ones up and get them cut.
The idea of the stripping, is to give the bike a good clean and service, make the bike original, learn how it all goes together, and most importantly TRY to do everything at home. I want to do all the work myself (including plastic welding).
Should be good. Knocked up a temp engine stand today so I can drop the engine in the coming week.

And before anyone mentions it.....The shed is pretty clean hey

There is another similar stand right behind it. The only real difference is that it has no from wheel vice, and the platform is aluminium chequer plate (so sexy). I reckon I might have to put the plans into Autocad and upload them so anyone can build the same stand I have. Very simple. Just need access to a welder.
