G'day from Brissie

Hi all,

About time I actually registered instead of just lurking.

My name is Jason, and I found out about KSRC via some of my CanberraRiders friends (metaltriumph, Gosling, MickC) quite a while ago (back when I was a Canberran) - though as a Triumph owner (I believe some have referred to my particular model as the "Gaytona" - bugger off, it was a great bike :P ), I thought I should steer clear, although it was pretty clear there was a really good culture on this site (or perhaps more specifically amongst it's members).

Now that I have the right bike in the garage, it seems more appropriate that I join! Said bike is a 78/79 z650 in "not-too-far-off-running" condition. Plan is to cafe-ify it - though I will be the first to admit I know bugger all about most things technical when it comes to bikes - so it will be an interesting journey for me. I certainly have a long way to go before it will be anything near comparable to some of the projects which have graced this forum!

I am tracking my progress on http://www.bikeblog.com.au for anyone that is interested - though I will set up a thread here for periodic updates as well. Right now I am all talk and no action, as I have been trying to work out what look I am going for, but am hoping to get a little more hands on in the next couple of months!

Look forward to being a bit more involved in the forum - and welcome any advice/tips on the build as I go!

Cheers,

Jas.

welcome Jason
Great to see you have 1/ the right bike z650!!! & 2/ with said bike at your doorstep you have probably the best pool of information in the free world, being Gos & M/T especially seeing you are going down the Caf'e route.
Good luck with it!
Pete
