My first Kwakka

G'day all.

I'm getting back into road bikes after quite a break...been busy with kids, go karts and dirt bikes.

Lucky enough (I think) to pick up a 1986 GPX750R with a 'blown motor' for nicks. Turns out that the young previous owner threw away the air box and fitted Uni pod filters and a four into one but failed to make any jetting changes. Result...four badly burnt inlet valves.

Anyway, I've rebuilt the top-end, brakes and other bits and pieces and she's almost ready for the road. I understand I need a K & N Stage 3 Dyno jetting kit to get her running right with the current setup.

Does anyone know where I can pick up such a kit in Australia? I tracked one down in the Netherlands from GoParts. He wants 115 Euros (about $185 Australian) plus $105Aus freight, and a three-week wait. Sounds a bit steep to me. Any suggestions?

Also, I'm trying to track down an original airbox assembly. No luck with the wreckers or Kawasaki Japan.

Cheers

Gerry

Emmm, a 1986 GPX thats needs a few parts, sounds like you need to get advice from the KSRC Ride Rage Radio man with the 6 million dollar GPX  .
Good luck Gerry, welcome to the nutters club !!!!!

Cheers to Robracer, Gazza, Big Al Glynn, Richo, Blurr and Tinman for the kind greetings. Hope to be piloting the GPX around the roads of Mackay and the Whitsundays before too long...soon as I get the jetting sorted.
