Well I've just stepped up from having a Honda VTR250 so I didn't want to go silly. I've only been riding for 10 months. The 636 will keep me entertained for a while I'm sure.

They are both sexy bikes. What do you expect when they both took out Master Bike of the Year for the second year in a row. Go the Kwakas!!

Neka - first time for you on a 10R ?? they are something else really heh !! did this bike have a steering damper fitted ? Mick C - what about yours ? the demo from CMCC had a HyperPro fitted, and a couple of magazine articles have basically said - Don't get one without a damper fitted. My experience up Macs Reef Road , wow, they are pretty 'flighty' at speed, you really need that damper :? but what a weapon

never ridden a 636 ( only a zx6r a couple years ago) - Hope you ladies enjoy your new bikes, you have made a good choice in picking a Kwakka :D

yea mate...since i didnt want to ride one until i could afford to buy one, i stayed away..then i lost my lic...so yesterday i get my ticket back, head out thru the hills for a few hrs, back into town & test the thing...he asks for my licence & i giggle & give him this scrappy piece of paper..id had my licence 3 hrs & was testing the most powerful bike (proddy) in the world...then after several wheelies & hard-ons i thought id take it back b4 i hurt it (or me)..then i wandered down to test a cbr but they didnt have a demo..oh well i got thursday off!!

they are definitley one of the most rapid motorcycles I have ever ridden. Its the light weight, anything with 170+hp weighing < 180kg is going to be an absolute belter. Jeez, these figures are GP territory from only 10 or so years ago ( well, pretty close). I might do some quick research on GP bikes HP/weight, and get a better idea

If you get one, keep an eye on your licence

i was only reminded every time i picked up the front wheel...
"one point for 12 months"...yup thats all i got..
and no offence to the 10r (ohh a nice bike) but it DIDNT scare me as much as id expected..thank god, but when ur use to 140hp & 162kg i guess its a bit different to stepping up from a 110hp 600...

funniest thing i saw yesterday was a lady picking up her new toy..she bought herself a 50th Bday presie...a cbr1000....thats wen it hit me....
fireblades are for girls..and not just any girls...OLD BAGS....
i want a 10r...

mind u the old 929/954 was still a better bike than the zx9r..and the 1st gen blade was wot gave us sportsbikes...

That's how I felt too when I first rode it, there's so much hype about them but they are really sweet to ride.

Dave I've got a steering damper fitted but it didn't come in until a month after I got the bike so I had a bit of time without it. I took it a bit easier to start with anyway but I never felt I needed it when it wasn't there. Having said that I've had a few moments since where I think it might have gotten a bit hairy without it, so it's nice to know it's there. Apparently getting rid of the Dunflops helps as well...once the weather clears up a bit I'll be able to scrub the last of the rubber off them and put on the nice new Pilot Powers I've got sitting in the garage

I would never suggest that Fairyblades are a *girls* bike, mate I could never live with myself  I have hosed the odd 'Blade with a 25year old Z1000 on more than 1 occasion ( only to the ton, then they whistle past :x ) but that was the earlier ones. Later ones actually get along pretty well.

Mick - my mates 10R came with a damper straight from CMCC, I think the bike absolutely deserves one - but I'm spewin' - there is no-where on the 12 for a head-stem mounted damper, like the versions on the 10. Not Happy Jan  Have already had 1 slapper, out on the Uriarra Crossing road, heading uphill Lhander, there are some evil roadzits there, and bugger me, it did the big slap !!! will need a damper sometime (soon).

cheers
