MAGNUS says "I LOVE MY 12"

Sat Aug 26, 2006 12:21 pm

hola, i have riden my 03 12R since she was new in 04(leftover). i love my bike, its not my first bike. i traded in a 93 ZX11 that i also bought new in 93. thought that was the fastest bike i would ever ride. I was wrong. I LOVE MY 12 IT IS SO PERFECT. she has stayed stock as long as i can take it. if i post dumb questions--sorry. i cant find anybody who rides a 12 or even knows anyone who owns one. finding aftermarket accesories is another problem. so excuse my ignorance. I love my bike, it takes care of me, no matter how close i bring it to the edge she brings me home. I just want the best for her. thats why im here. i am setting the bike up for everyday driver// 300+ horsepower, 215mph bike. o ya did i mention i want a landspeed record(Bonneville). last time i heard the record was somwhere around 245. so when i say 215mph i really mean 265. can i, will i or will i die tryin and take my beautiful green bike with me. till death do us part. im not crazy or stupid and im not dying of old age. EVERYBODY DIES BUT NOT EVERYBODY LIVES!!! would have gone this year but the bike wasnt ready going next year regardless. sounds weird but put on a fuckin helmet be careful and god bless [img][/img]

hello and welcome

See other post (again  ) Performance Bikes reckon you will need almost 700HP to crack 250mph...
Law of diminishing returns... its gets hard for every extra mph the hp has to increase expontentially.

Gotta love the 12 but

g'day and welcome

from this 12R rider.... :D

700 hp isnt impossible.... if you were running a zx-14... on methanol... with so much turbo lag you had like nothing till 10000rpm then bike up your ass :P..... or on the other hand you could retrofit a 13bt rotary engine into that chassis :P... shaft driven... itd be mighty hard to engineer but simple to get 700-800hp.

I didnt say impossible either, see the other thread
Tyres might be a problem too
But go for it

Sat Aug 26, 2006 6:33 pm

hah on yeah.... those things O.O... pfft who needs tyres :P

but in all serious you would probably have to whack a wheel from a F1 car on the back :P wider than that dodge tommahawk concept or whatever it was with 2 rear wheels.

Welcome Magnus

Nah I was actually thinking delaminating from the high speed (centrifigal force type thingy)
But someone prob makes a tyre especially for that sort of thing

I hope

and yeah I seen the Fastest Indian too but I dont think bread knife cut cross plies will stand up to 400k

ive seen modified GSXs do it at the flats. with a turbo 215 speed 1st run. had to turn the boost dowm to the 300 range cause of the salt. he had 500 horse (never saw a dyno)just didnt use it all. runnin the salt different. he has the record. around 240. this guy is sponsered by suzuki maybe making him unbeatable. his bike is not stretched and his rear end mostly stock(no car tire)

The Aust. record holder is Ronnie Stayt, a drag racer from mackay, set last year at lake gairdner in sth Oz. On his 03 ZX12R Drag bike Extended swing arm but no huge car tyre on the back. You could try asking LAE whats been done to it or what power it makes but id be betting that its private info.

Hes got a 14 for next years season that wolf racing are supposed to be working on.
