ZZR Fenderectomy

In the beginning, there was a fender that was most unsightly…

And we thinketh, its gotta go…. And so the crowd it dideth gather round to remove the offending villain.

Firstly, we removed the number plate and reflector, and marked where the cut would happen with a pencil, after much stuffing around trying to decide how much to cut. Came to the conclusion that was no use doing half a job eh???

Then the cut did happen, using a hacksaw

Towards the ends, we took the blade out of the hacksaw and used it on its own, cause it was getting a little too close to the paintwork.

We then filed around the edges, and followed that with a quick scorch using a lighter, then ran fingers over the hot plastic to remove the daggy bits and smooth it completely.

Then drilled new holes for the number plate bracket after deciding to keep it, rather than ditch it.

Reinstall the number plate bracket in its new position.

Reattach the number plate.
